Education Background
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lawrence University, Appleton, WI
Master of Education from Texas State University
Beginning my 27th year at Purple Sage (29th year to teach), I am teaching TAG for the ninth year. I have previously taught 5th grade as a homeroom teacher, as well as 5th grade language arts and math as an inclusion teacher for more than eight years. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI; and I completed my M.Ed. in special education from Texas State. I am certified to teach general education k-8, TAG, ELL, special education k-12, secondary psychology, and all-level PE. I have completed numerous workshops and specialty trainings in reading instruction, differentiated instruction, TAG, and technology.
I am an avid reader and enjoy sports and outdoor activities, as well. I am the mother of two, a graduate of Southwestern University and a junior at UT Austin who's studying music education. I am an active member of the music ministries team at church where you'll find me playing flute with the praise band, orchestra, choir, or in chapel. Because my daughter is a graduate of SU, the TAG classroom has adopted Southwestern University as its mascot, as a way of introducing a local four-year university to the students. Go Pirates!
